Top Five: Video Game Systems

This is the first of 2 new post formats! Top Five and What Makes!  Top Five is simply a top five list and what makes is where I will do breakdowns about what makes certain games so good. So here are my top 5 video game consoles!'

Honorable Mentions: Sony PSP, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS

These 3 systems didn't quite make my top 5. But they are all still great systems. The 360 was ahead of its time and had multiple masterpieces released for it. Such as: Halo 3, The Orange Box and Rock Band. The PSP was overshadowed by the Game Boy. But it still is an amazing system. I still use mine! It had some great games such as Sonic Rivals and Mega Man X: Maveric Hunter. The PSP used disks and 3d models and a digital store while the GBA was using sprites and cartridges. And I may have used my 3DS more than any of these other systems!

Number 5: Xbox Series X.

This may be controversial, But I love the series X. It was the first Xbox I played on since the 360. The Series X pushed the boundaries of what I thought was possible for gaming. The graphics are amazing. It's got the single best controller I've ever used and was the beginning of Game Pass.  Well... Maybe not the beginning, but definitely when it took off. Xbox X didn't have the best lineup.... With garbage like Halo Infinite being packaged with systems. But Xbox SX did have quite a few awesome games released for it that showcased its true power such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. XSX Is a beast and one of my top 5.

Best game: Halo: The Master Chief Collection

Number 4: Game Boy Advance

Yes, yes, I know that's a Game Boy Advance SP. But it's the exact model of GBASP I have now. The Game Boy line of consoles was amazing. The GBA is simply the best of a great line. The GBA had amazing graphics and amazing games. Even by today's standards! The GBA allowed you to take Mega Man, Mario, Samus and Sonic in your pocket. The GBA Had an absolutely AMAZING line of games. Including: Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire, Metroid Fusion, Mega Man Zero, Sonic Battle, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem and so much more. The GBA is a Legendary system and one of the best handhelds ever released.

Best Game: Mega Man Zero 2 / Metroid Fusion

Number 3: The SNES

The SNES is nothing short of a legend. The SNES took what made the NES great and made it even better. Better controls, better graphics and even some better games. The SNES is home to Super Mario All Stars, Super Metroid, Mega Man X and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. All of these are amazing games. The SNES is the oldest Nintendo system I've ever used and one of the best.  Despite having to contend with Sega, the SNES is a standout system. I still remember the day I got my SNES. I invited my friends over to show off my brand-new system and played Doom and Super Mario All Stars. Stuff like that is what makes the SNES special.

Best Game: Super Metroid

Number 2: The Wii

The Wii was revolutionary. Most people think of the Wii as just a game console. But it was much more. Much MUCH more. The Wii was the home of the first ever streaming service! One of the first social media platforms! And the Wii was one of the first things to ever let you check the weather, Read Email, Send Pictures to your friends AND let you play video games! The Wii will be remembered as so much more than a simple system. And even as a gaming system the Wii was a standout! The Wii was home to many great titles such as: The Legendary Wii Sports, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption! The Wii is, was, and always will be: A legend.

Best Game: Wii Sports

Number 1: PC

PC's and PC gaming have changed a lot since what you see above. PC is home to possibly the greatest games of all time. I'm not judging PC off of web browsers or anything. Just the gaming capabilities. PC is where VR gaming got its start. My favorite genre: FPS, started on PC. and Sony and Microsoft have begun putting their games on PC. The PC gaming scene has no shortage of legends. Here are just a few games that started on this guy: Minecraft, Half-Life, Fallout, Doom, Counter-Strike, Among Us and so, so much more. PC is my favorite system. It is simply the best. PC gaming has taken many forms. From the 80s point and click and 8-bit platformers and the 2000s edgy FPS games, to the VR games of today. Many games and devs got their start on PC. Thanks to the legendary Steam platform. Steam has been around for a long time. And has become the number one video game market. Steam and PC allow up and coming developers to make games and share them with the world. Just look at Vampire Survivors and Stardew Valley! From PC indies to console megahits! PC is my selection for the best gaming system of all time.

Best Game: Half-Life 2

Those are my Top 5 Gaming systems. What do you think?
