Secret Level Needs to Succeed

 Amazon's new animated gaming anthology series drops on December 10th. As a die-hard Mega Man fan, I cannot wait to see what they came up with. But there's another thing about secret level. If it does well and gets more people to play the games it features (Well... Besides Concord) Then more game companies will be interested in tv adaptations.



Secret Level is interesting. It showcases 15 games. each game will have an episode. Some I know. (Mega Man, Unreal Tournament, Pac-Man) Others I've heard of (Warhammer 40k, Sifu) and some...are...interesting... (Concord) But after Fallout it seems like Prime is going all in on gaming. With Fallout season 2 on the way. A new Mass Effect series and a Madden documentary Prime seems like they want to reach gamers. And I REALLY want this to work. Why you ask? Before making this series, the creators made a number of gaming trailers for games such as BioShock Infinite and Batman Arkham City. But they also made a 4 season Netflix show called Love, Death + Robots. See where I'm going? 45 new games. 45. Think about it. 45 New gaming short films. What's the chance some of our favorites aren't in there? This is why I want Secret Level to do well. If Prime is making gaming shows such as Fallout. (Netflix is doing it too) And they are making a good bit of money from them... Maybe we'll finally see some of those long-lost gaming films. Like the Portal and Bioshock films. And maybe since they are GOOD this time around (DOOM!!!!) They will stick around. I don't know about anyone else, but I am actually excited for a Mega Man tv adaptation that I'SNT a stupid kid's cartoon. But for every good show there's a flop. Look at Borderlands. Or that terrible Minecraft movie trailer. And I like the Sonic movies... I just wish that there were more adaptations not geared towards kids. Mario was good. I hated Detective Pikachu, Sonic 1 was ok and 2 was so much better, And Sonic 3 looks great. But I want to see stuff like Fallout. Like Half-Life or Call of Duty. Here is a quick list of games that I would like to see in Secret Level or another adaptation in the future.


Half-Life


Now I am not quite sure what an animated Half Life short film would look like. I just think that Half Life is SCREAMING for an adaptation of some kind. As a Half-Life addict, I would love to see the Black Mesa incident on the big screen. A series would also fit Half Life well. It could cover the entire HL timeline. I don't think HL is the right fit for SL, but it still needs a film or show. The Portal games may be a better fit for SL. Portal 2's Atlas and P-body in particular.

Titanfall

Now Titanfall is perfect. Secret Level already has a mech episode in Armored Core and the creators have plenty of experience with robots and mechs. It doesn't have to follow Jack or BT either. I think one where it's just Titans would be interesting. The point is that TF has a great set of assets that could be used well for an episode. And unlike Half Life it fits the series well.

Team Fortress 2

No, I am not putting this here because I like Valve games. I am putting this here because TF2 already has a ton of animated shorts called the Meet the Team shorts. They are ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS. Tf2's art style is a great fit and its cartoony chaos could lead to a comedic episode that fits the iconic mercs well.


Hollow Knight


Hollow Knight would probably do best as an anime but if done in the right style SL could tell an amazing tale of Hollownest. Hollow Knight's extensive lore base and silent protagonist the Knight sound like a great fit for SL. If they made a Hollow Knight show I would 100% watch it.


Metroid Prime

In my opinion Metroid Prime is one of the best things Nintendo's ever done period. But I also think MP is perfect for SL. The Prime games are where they would need to look. After a Legend of Zelda movie confirmed and a Mario sequel on the way it's time for Nintendo to make an adaptation of Metroid. The animation style of the prime games is perfect along with the atmosphere. I would like for them to do a Samus Vs Dark Samus episode.  MP is perfect (Also...Advertisement idea... Metroid "Prime"...Sorry) 


So that's my list. I cannot wait for SL to drop on the tenth. I hope it's great and does well. I'll review some of the episodes individually. Because I'm most likely skipping some.

Vampire Survivors Character Teir List PT-1

  I have been playing a lot of Vampire Survivors lately and thought to open this blog with some posts about this game. In this post I will rank EVERY Vampire Survivors character I have finished a run with (which means I am not counting my Co-op partner's character or runs that I quit.)  This list only contains a few characters so I will make a new one soon. (This list is not in any particular order.) Here are the ranks: F: The worst of the worst. These characters are almost unusable. D: Bad characters who are not very good at all. C: Mediocre characters who pale in comparison to others. B: Good characters who are really good early on. A: Great characters who work well late. The Best of Xbox Direct.

  Xbox Direct happened last month in June. I was staring at the screen as a ton of phenomenal looking FPS games were announced. (I am a HUGE FPS nut.) So here are my picks for the best of Xbox Direct June 9th, 2024. (In no particular order.) WARNING: MOST OF THESE GAMES ARE RP AND WILL MOST LIKELY BE M RATED! First off: DOOM: THE DARK AGES Doom was one of the first FPS games I ever played. Of course, it was the sucky SNES version but whatever. This game looks absolutely SICK. So, the rumors were that Doom was getting a new entry that takes place in medieval times. They were 100% true. This game looks like it is going to be an extremely fun Boomer Shooter. So, the DOOM games were always big Sci-Fi gorefests. Like every game was just no story all violence. Which I don't really like because there was a lot missing in the first game due to it all just being you shooting stuff.
