Vampire Survivors Character Teir List PT-1

I have been playing a lot of Vampire Survivors lately and thought to open this blog with some posts about this game. In this post I will rank EVERY Vampire Survivors character I have finished a run with (which means I am not counting my Co-op partner's character or runs that I quit.)  This list only contains a few characters so I will make a new one soon. (This list is not in any particular order.)

Here are the ranks:

  • F: The worst of the worst. These characters are almost unusable.
  • D: Bad characters who are not very good at all.
  • C: Mediocre characters who pale in comparison to others.
  • B: Good characters who are really good early on.
  • A: Great characters who work well late.
  • S: Amazing characters who can destroy runs and work anytime anywhere.
  • ?: Characters whose usefulness depend on the situation or randomized stats.

Ghost Lino. (DLC) Rank: ?

Lino's rank really depends on when you use him. For example: He deals NO damage, so he stinks if your goal is to survive and unlock the next stage or hyper mode. But if your goal is to unlock a character via survival time like Lama Laddona or Gyorunton then he is an Instant cheat code. He is guaranteed to clear the run unless you quit. Other than using him to cheat unlocks he is a pretty sucky character and if not for his unlockable cheating methods he would get an F rank.

Antonio Belpase. Rank: C

Antonio is without a doubt the worst starting character in the game. I have used him a grand total of 1 time. I used him for my first run and died at 11:00 at the skeleton swarm In Mad Forest. Never used him again. Antonio lacks any real special traits to make him stronger. His Might bonus also is much too slow to make any difference. Lama and Pugnala have better might bonuses as does Zi'Assunta. Antonio also has only 1 bonus other than his starting hp: +1 armor. He is useless.
I recommend getting Gennaro as soon as you can so you can stop using this mediocre character.

Gennaro Belpase. Rank: B

The first character I cleared a run with. Gennaro is a good starter with his projectile bonus. Gennaro works quite well early on, but he is not as good late. Out of all the starters Gennaro is most likely the best one. His knife is one of the better starting weapons. I would recommend using Gennaro until you get a character like Pugnala. Compared to late characters how good Gennaro is how good the player is using him. If you use him incorrectly (Charging straight into enemies) you are better off using someone like Poe.

The Mask of the Red Death. Rank: S

Arguably the most OP secret character in the game, Red Death is an absolute BEAST. His stats are insane. For example, I used him in Moonglow to unlock Big Trouser and by the end of the run I had over 400 HP. he starts with 255 and can go up to 300 with adequate power-ups. His Might bonus is no pushover either. He starts with a full +20% Might bonus that with power-ups can go to 45%. and then for good measure he spawns with a full +100% move speed boost. His starting weapon: Death Spiral is one of the best and most damaging starters in the game. Arcana XVI Slash makes him even more powerful as it boosts Spiral's damage output even more. Overall, Red is a powerhouse.

Pugnala Provola. Rank: S

One of the best coffin characters, Pugnala is also the only character who starts with 2 weapons. Her starting combo is quite good. The double guns can tear up enemies at the start of a run and can become one of the best starters just by getting Arcana I Gemini and the Amount Power-up. this increases the number of bullets significantly. Pugnala does not start with a lot of bonuses. apart from a +20% move speed her only bonus is a +1% might each level. HOWEVER: this ability has no cap meaning she can infinitely gain might. Pugnala is one of the best characters in the game due to the double weapons at the start and increasing might. I recommend getting the Mad Forest coffin as soon as possible.

Exdash Exiviiq. Rank: D

Exdash is a bad character. He has +100% luck and that's about it. He has one of the worst starting weapons in the entire game in Ebony Wings. Basically, ALL of his stats are bad except Luck and Curse. He spawns with 77 hp without any power-ups therefore making him worse than Poe in the term of stats. He also has a -50% move speed disadvantage making him EVEN WORSE. Apart from being good in the Luck game, Exdash has little use for players who are not good at using weaker characters. However, if you pick the right items and Arcanas he could potentially work well. However, this is extremely unlikely.

Poe Ratcho. Rank: C

Poe is one of the better early characters. To unlock him you must get Garlic to level 7, and this really isn't hard. Poe starts with a +25% pickup area bonus which sounds good until you realize he has -30 max HP. Poe can rip through early crowds of enemies and is practically immune to Mad Forest Bats and small skulls in Gallo Tower. But as you get further into your run you realize that when you get hit you lose way more HP. Unless you have Hollow Heart or the Max HP power-up then Poe's low Max HP can screw you fast. Pummarola could potentially save you, but the effect is too slow to make a real difference.

Impostor Rina. (DLC) Rank: A

Rina is overpowered even as base Impostor. She isn't an S only due to the fact that there is an upgraded version of her. Impostor Rina begins with overpowered stat boosts: +20% Might +20 Max HP +20% Move Speed. But that's not why she is good. Every 500 enemy kills or so she goes into a rampage mode where her might is boosted significantly. Not only that but her speed is also significantly boosted, and she turns invulnerable. Rina is an absolute psycho in this form. The Sharp Tongue is a great starting weapon as well. Overall, Rina is most likely the easiest character to unlock from Emergency Meeting.

Dommario. Rank: B

Dommario is an odd character. his starting weapon is probably better than Poe's. But like Poe he has a major disadvantage. He starts with a -40% Move Speed disadvantage. Sometimes this isn't a huge problem like early on. But in levels where you actually have to go somewhere or enemies that can get through your King Bible THEN you've got a problem. For example: I was playing the Among Us stage (DLC) and needed to get to a button to stop a sabotage. (If you played the DLC you know what I'm talking about.) And since he's SO SLOW I got absolutely DESTROYED by it. There are times to use this guy and times not to.

She-Moon Eeta. Rank: A

She-Moon is the Whiteout character. She is unlockable by finding 20 Orologiorns, Playing Whiteout and surviving 20 minutes. Afterwards you can use her. She is really good. She starts with a +2 Armor and a +20% Move Speed bonus. Glass Fandango is a phenomenal starting weapon and when paired with her +20% Move Speed can SHRED foes. Not that I've ever needed it, but she also activates a 10 second time freeze when her HP reaches a critical level. She-Moon is built around Speed and Time Freezing. Meaning that Wings (These evo Glass Fandango too!) and Orologiorns are key. Obtain these and you are going deep.

Boon Marrabbio. Rank: A

Marrabbio is an oddity. He requires WAY more strategizing than ANY of these other guys. His bonuses will tell you why. +20 Max HP, +30% Move Speed, +20% Might. Sounds good so far, right? That is until you notice he has -110% Projectile speed, -80% Greed and +10% Curse. Not super helpful. He starts with Thousand Edges which is usually really fast except with him it makes a sort of Knife trail. This is good early on but without Bracer it can take a toll late. Unless you can use this to your advantage like this 1: Making a Knife cloud that you move with and protects you. 2: Leading enemies into your trail and decimating them. Or 3: Firing Knife clouds at enemies to clear a path. Either way he is both good and an awkward character.

Engineer Gino. (DLC) Rank: A

Gino is a good character. He begins with the Lucky Swipe (Which turns into one of my favorite evolutions: Crossed Wires) And a +20% Move Speed. But his best trait is that at levels 2, 12 and 22 he gains an extra passive weapon. This is SUPER useful in evolving weapons.  He also starts with +20 Reroll, Skip and Banish. He is a semi-technical character because of this. His starting weapon works okay but it's evo why you get it. Crossed Wires is one of the best crowd thinning weapons there is. His upgrades come really handy late. Overall, Gino is worth it.

Guardian Angel Pina. Rank: A

When it comes to starting weapons... I mean come on man. Pina is the queen of slow starts. Pina's best aspect though is in the support category. She begins with +1 revival and has a chance to gain another one any time someone revives. (Including you!) In Co-op she also grants armor and recovery bonuses to all nearby survivors. Her stat bonuses are as follows: +20% Move Speed, +1 Armor and +0.1 Recovery. Like Dino she is a semi-Co-op character who can help in multiplayer. Don't get me wrong though. She's still good in single player. (I use Pina to get She-Moon! That revival comes in handy!)

Crewmate Dino. Rank: B

Dino is a lot like the other Among Us guys. He starts with +20% Move Speed and Report. (Good late game weapon to have.) But otherwise, he has no starting bonuses. His thing is that anytime someone's weapon reaches max level he gets a moderate stat boost. Like 0.4 Revival moderate. Or like +32% Might or + 180 Max Health. It's pretty random. His usefulness kind of depends on this. For example: You need more health desperately. But you did not pick Hollow Heart. However, you just evolved Fire Wand. But instead of the HP bonus you needed you got a trashy +0.4 amount bonus. You died immediately. Dino is also better in Co-op due to the fact that he can get his bonuses faster.

There you go. That is every Vampire Survivors character I have ever finished a run with ranked. Exdash narrowly avoided F rank today and that's the only rank that was not used. I will release a follow up when I unlock some more characters. Are there any of these that you disagree with? See Ya!
